Let’s get this out of the way: I love my job. I love that my work involves writing about sex, talking about sex, and helping people have better sex.

That being said, being an adult film star sounds awesome. The work is undoubtedly hard, but it also seems fun. The costumes, the toys, the naked people, the not being chained to a desk for hours… unless that’s what the scene calls for, of course.

The porn stars I’ve had the opportunity to meet while working at TPC range from simply delightful to nothing short of inspiring, and sometimes it’s hard not to get a little bit star-struck.  In fact, it took everything I had inside not to drop down on my knees shrieking “NOOOOOOOO!” the day a certain beautiful, talented, and famously filthy adult superstar came into the LA store and I was out of town.

The good news is, all will be redeemed this month with our March Porn Madness workshops and appearances at The Pleasure Chest Los Angeles.

On March 9th, we’re hosting a discussion panel “Sex Savvy: Smart Women in Porn“, featuring legendary adult film stars Candida Royalle, Nina Hartley, and Jane Hamilton (aka Veronica Hart), each of whom have now stepped behind the camera and/or become sexy, savvy business women. Joining them will be erotic performer, model, muse, staff favorite, and star of my screen saver April Flores. In the moderator’s chair, “the next generation of sex educator”, writer, and erotic film director Jamye Waxman will get the discussion on the sex industry going, as well as get the other ladies to reveal some of their hottest tales and tricks.

On March 11th, award-winning stars Jessica Drake and Kaylani Lei will join us for a meet and greet, signing merchandise and hanging out with fans. On the 24th, Jessica (who is also a writer/director, BTW) will be teaching a workshop on blow-jobs. That’s right, an AVN Award winner for “Best Oral Sex Scene” teaching us her best BJ tricks. This is too much excitement. Somebody get me to a fainting couch.

Sex Savvy: Smart Women in Porn
