UPDATE: Congratulations to Mabel, who was randomly selected to win the Aneros Helix Syn. We hope you enjoy it as much as you enjoyed the 50 Shades trilogy! Also, congrats to David who won the $20 gift card. We hope you use it to buy something that’ll take your mind off that menacing air conditioner. Thanks to everyone who entered and shared their summer reading suggestions with us.
We’re huge fans of the Aneros product line. With their anatomical design and engineer-grade plastic, Aneros toys are comfortable, safe and proven to hit the spot. But nothing really prepared us for the Helix Syn.
Based on their popular Helix toy, the Syn has got what Aneros calls “an aggressive curve” which cradles and massages the prostate from top to bottom. You don’t even need strong Kegel muscles, because the Syn does all the work. It’s also coated with a velvety silicone material that feels great. The same soft material covers the P-tab which rests against (and gently thumps) the perineum, so the Syn doesn’t pinch your skin. The Syn has a narrow head that slips in with even a small amount of water-based lube, and it’s small enough that you can wear it during intercourse or for discreet fun anywhere. Though it’s advertised as a prostate massager, it would be a great anal toy for female-bodied folks too. It just feels good. And it has a lot of fans.
We’re giving away a Syn to one lucky reader. Simply post a comment below telling us what you’re reading this summer. Whether you’ve got Fifty Shades fever or are plowing through War & Peace, we want to know what you’re reading (besides this blog, of course.) Books, magazines and websites are all acceptable. Post a link if you like.
On Monday, August 27th, we’ll pick one person at random to win the Syn. We also award a $20 Pleasure Chest gift card to the person who submits our favorite summer reading suggestion. It pays to be creative.
This is a discreet contest, so you don’t need to use your real name, but please provide a working email address, so we can contact you. Good luck!

“It” by Stephen King
Henry & Glenn: Forever and Ever. A comic about Glenn Danzig and Henry Rollings being in a gay relationship
Also, Hall & Oates are their neighbors and they are also Satanists
I just finished reading the 50 shades trilogy. I’m now finishing the hunger games trilogy!

Pleasure by eric jerome dickey
I’m currently reading Art & Lies by Jeanette Winterson, because what else is there?
I just finished reading “The Sex Diaries Project” by Arianne Cohen. A very sexy and eye-opening book, not only for all the randy and naughty bits, but a great study in relationships.
Currently reading Dracula and The Ethical Slut.
Half Blood Blues by Esi Deugyan, about an German-African American jazz band trying to navigate Nazi Germany.
Currently reading – snowcrash
Favorite (anytime) reading? delta of Venus – anais nin
I have plowed through 50 shades trilogy 3 times now, and am currently reading 31 flavors of kink. The bedroom is very hot this summer!
I read DL hughley’s hilarious book I Want You To Shut the F#ck Up. Which is a comedic take on society and politics. My other summer read was Nervous by Zane. It’s an urban erotic novel about a “virgin” woman with a promiscuous split personality. I might see what the 50 Shades of Grey hype is about soon. My next read hopefully will be Pale White Horse if I can locate where to purchase it.
If I may suggest to any la/hollywood natives. Pick up the LA weekly sometimes. There’s great articles of local news and events inside. Never a dull moment reading that paper.
Goodnight moon. I am up to the mamma bear is saying goodnight to the baby bears. Tough part to get through
House of Dark Delights, by Louisa Burton. I haven’t read 50 Shades, but I’ve read enough about it to know it can hold a candle to this book (and the 3 more that follow it in the series.)
Louisa Burton is a good choice. All the Hidden Grotto books are excellent reads.
Currently finishing off Different Loving. A book based on interviews of those active in the BDSM lifestyle.
The Queen Mother: The Official Biography and I am acturally reading the entire book.
I’m reading ‘Monkey Mind: A Memoir of Anxiety’ by Daniel Smith.
It’s funny, and relatable, and helps me from worrying about when my air conditioner is going to fall out of my bedroom window and kill somebody.
I’m currently reading The Filter Bubble by Eli Pariser. It’s about the new trend of personalizing the internet sites one visits.
Gay Sharp Skinheads
Captive of Gore. Trying to figure out that aspect of kinks….
Reading the second Fifty Shades book and really into it…. want to experience everything described in all the books..
My summer read is The Ethical Slut by Dossie Easton & Janet Hardy!
I just started a new relationship recently where my girlfriend poly & kinky! This book has been a wonderful learning tool for me as well as a great read and source of some stimulating discussions! I recommend it to anyone who is interested in not only learning more about Polyamory but in how to handle emotions, feelings and learn how to communicate in any type of relationship!
I am currently reading my way through “The Sleeping Beauty Trilogy” By Ann Rice. Can’t beat the classics that leave little to the imagination
I thought 50shades was ok. 50shades darker was boring and quit a 1/4 way through.
Now I am writing my own smut. The hottest fantasy is your own.
Reading the “A New Beginning ” Erotica short series, by Alan Rovel
http://www.amazon.com/Alan-Rovel/e/B0051UZVB2/ref=ntt_athr_dp_pel_1
Currently reading “Tasting Her: Oral Sex Stories” by Rachel Kramer Bussel. It’s a great collection of sexy short stories. I plan to move onto her other collection “Tasting Him:Oral Sex Stories”. Great writers and a variety of sexy fictional stories.
As far as a sexy summer reading list, here is a good mix:
-Non Fiction-
Sex at Dawn
Ethical Slut
Bonk:The Curious Coupling of Scince and Sex
Leatherfolk
-Fiction-
Sleeping Beauty Trilogy
Exit to Eden
50 Shades of Grey Trilogy
Sword of Truth Series
Lady Chatterley’s Lover
Slow Sex – By Nicole Dadone …. wonderful read I’m savouring by taking it slowly
Teacher gets bought by Chloe Cox. And Building the Pack by Sonia Maxwell. Delicious quick reads. Can you guess what my fantasy is?
DIVERSION by Eden Winters is an amazing book, perfect as a thriler, buddy comedy, and scorching hot m/m romance. (It also features the most memorable hero I’ve seen in a while…Lucky isn’t your usual romance hero, since he’s flawed and not handsome, but his quick wit and raging libido make him so sexy!) I also loved Tara Lain’s DECEPTIVE ATTRACTION (luscious m/m/f menage with very cool characters) and KA Mitchell’s COLLISION COURSE (with nonstop gay sex, but also excellent plotting). And, for the non-porn moments in life, Fred Chao’s graphic novel JOHNNY HIRO is clever and sweet to put a huge smile on your face.
I’ve got the Beauty trilogy published under Anne Rice’s other penname, A.N. Roquelaure: The Claiming of Sleeping Beauty, Beauty’s Punishment, and Beauty’s Release.
Also, Anne Rice’s The Mummy, Or Ramses the Damned was on my list earlier this summer. Has a few steamy goodies in there.
American Gods by Neil Gaiman. Favorite summer read? Divergent (and it’s sequel, Insurgent) by Veronica Roth! Its got a kick-ass female protagonist who lives in a future dystopian Chicago. It’s teen fiction so it’s a quick but very entertaining read. Read it! Read it now!
Bicycle Diaries by David Byrne. It’s really fun reading filled with lots of tales and anecdotes!
